RYA Competent Crew Practical Course

Course description: Introduces the absolute beginner to the delights of sailing aboard a cruising yacht. It is also an ideal stepping stone for dinghy sailors to try yachting and for those who have done some crewing but wish to learn the right way and for you who would like to advance from being just a passenger to an active crewmember aboard a yacht. By the end of the course you will be able to steer, handle sails, keep a lookout, row a dinghy and assist in all the daily routines on board. You will also have visited some interesting harbours and anchorages and had an enjoyable holiday.

Suggested minimum pre-course experience and recommended knowledge: None.

Course contents: Basic seamanship and helmsmanship.

Duration: 5 days or three weekends. Reduced to 2 weekends for holders of the Start yachting certificate..

After the course: You are a useful crew member.

Certificate: After successful completion we award you with an RYA Competent Crew Practical Certificate.

RYA Coursedates 2012

RYA Competent Crew practical  5 days Eur. 675,00 or 3 weekends  - Eur. 300,00 p.p.p.wknd.   

Food, drinks and Harbourfees  20,00 Euro p.p p. day.

Midweek: monday 09.00 till friday 16.00

Weekends: friday 20.00 till sunday 16.00
