& Conditions
The receipt of a signed
application to Waypoint Amsterdam Sailing School or a
telephone booking or an email booking , followed by an acceptance letter
telephone or email from
Waypoint Amsterdam Sailing School forms the basis of a
contract between us.
The
deposit for all courses is 25% (except where specifically
indicated otherwise). The appropriate deposit must be made
at the time of booking. Deposits are non refundable.
Full payment must be made
(and cleared with our bank) 6 WEEKS before the course
start date. If full payment is not made by this date then
Waypoint Amsterdam Sailing School reserves the right to re
sell your place. Students is liable to pay the full amount
of the course booked even if Waypoint Amsterdam resells the
place. Courses booked within SIX weeks of the start date
must pay the full fee at the time of booking.

CANCELLATIONS In the event of
a cancellation by the student up to SIX WEEKS before the
course start date then only the deposit shall be forfeited.
In the event of a cancellation after this date the student
shall be liable for the full course fees in all cases.
We would advise students to
take out cancellation insurance.
Waypoint Amsterdam Sailing
School reserves the right to cancel any booking at any time,
in the unlikely event of this happening a full refund of all
monies paid to us shall be offered. Liability of Waypoint
Amsterdam Sailing School is limited to refund of the monies
only.
CHANGES TO PROGRAMME Waypoint
Amsterdam Sailing School reserves the right to make changes
to the advertised programme or craft if circumstances beyond
our control dictate this.
ACCOMMODATION Is only
provided on board the yacht in shared cabins for practical
courses. On theory courses, accommodation is the
responsibility of the student. We reserve the right to have
up to a maximum of five (5) students per yacht. There is
sometimes a 6th person (student instructor or someone else
not a student) on board , exclusive the instructor/ skipper
AGE LIMITS Waypoint Amsterdam
Sailing School cannot accept students under the age of 18.
There is no upper age limit, but it will be the student’s
responsibility to satisfy themselves that they are fit and
able to join their chosen course.
HEALTH AND SAFETY Sailing is
an activity sport and it is the responsibility of the
students to ensure that they are fit and healthy to sail.
Please check with your doctor if you are in any doubt.
You must inform your
instructor or skipper if you are taking any form of
medication. For practical courses please bring double your
usual dose. This means that you can carry your usual dose
and your skipper can keep a reserve for emergencies.
If for whatever reason the
skipper has to put a student ashore or administer medical
aid, no liabilities are accepted by Waypoint Amsterdam
Sailing School or the Skipper.
On matters of safety the
decision of your instructor or skipper is final.
You must be able to swim a
minimum of 100m for all practical Courses.
Smoking is not permitted in
the classroom or below decks although if necessary smoking
breaks can be taken ashore.
INSURANCE The school is
insured for instruction, the School’s vessels, and
equipment. However, this does not cover the student’s
personal possessions, motor cars, negligence/injury or
disablement however caused.
Students are strongly
recommended to take out personal/cancellation insurance.
CERTIFICATES We provide all
the necessary coaching but as with all training courses and
exams we cannot guarantee you pass. The decision of your
Instructor or Assessor is final.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES All
students will be expected to participate in the cooking,
cleaning of the vessel and routine maintenance as required
by the Instructor. At the end of the course, the students
are expected to clean the vessel to an as found condition.
Marina fees and food and
drinks costs are 20,00 Euro p.p.p. day .
Waypoint Amsterdam Sailing
School reserves the right to terminate your course at any
time if your behaviour is unacceptable. In this instance we
have no obligation to pay for any return travel costs or
refund any monies paid to us.
Any equipment borrowed from
the school for the duration of the course must be returned
at the end of the course. The cost of replacement will be
levied in the event of the non-return of equipment.
COMPLAINTS Are best dealt
with at the time; therefore in the first instance students
should discuss their area of concern with their Instructor,
who will endeavor to correct the matter according to the
schools operating procedures.
Failing a satisfactory
outcome, please contact the school principal. Complaints
must be received in writing or email within 28 days after
the last day of the course.
FORCE MAJEURE In the event of
non-performance, partial performance or delay resulting
wholly or partly from any force majeure or any occurrence or
circumstance whatever beyond Waypoint Amsterdam Sailing
School’s control including the acts or omissions of third
parties, labour difficulties, weather conditions, technical
breakdown or accident to any vessel or any part of it,
natural disaster or the act of any authority, then Waypoint
Amsterdam Sailing School shall use reasonable endeavours to
continue or perform the booking but otherwise shall have no
liability to the student. No refund of money shall be made.
No liability will be accepted by Waypoint Amsterdam
These terms and conditions
are governed by Dutch law and are subject to exclusive
jurisdiction of the Dutch Courts. |
