RYA Start Yachting Practical Course

This course is for the complete novice who would like to try sailing for the first time and enjoy a couple of lovely days on the water

Course description: Start Yachting is a two day introduction to sail cruising for them who’d like to find out what yachting is about. The emphasis is on fun and enjoyment and we are sure you will not want to leave at the end of the course. Your instructor will guide you through the safety procedures and make sure you are comfortable and at ease aboard your yacht before you set sail. By the end of the course you will have experienced steering a yacht, sail handling, rope work, and be aware of safety on board. You’ll also have enjoyed a couple of lovely days on the water.

Suggested minimum pre-course experience and recommended knowledge: None.

Course contents: Basic knowledge and experience of yachting like: Steering a yacht, sail handling, rope work and safety on board.

After the course: You’ll have a good idea what yacht cruising is about, reduced the time needed to complete the Competent Crew Practical course and had a pleasant sailing trip along the waters around Holland.

Certificate: After successful completion we award you with a RYA Start Yachting Practical Certificate.
